For the first time ever, Oyster Oyster is hiring a Pastry Chef and or Sous Chef to join our team.
We are seeking a thoughtful and creative cook with Michelin star and or fine dining experience who is excited to challenge traditional ideas of what dessert can be and to work within the constraints and possibilities of our cuisine and ethos. If you know Oyster Oyster, you know we are not typical.
Our cooking is deeply seasonal, and sustainability driven. We do not use white sugar, chocolate, gelatin, or conventional pastry shortcuts. This role is ideal for someone who thrives creatively within limitations and is excited to build desserts and breads that align with our philosophy.
Who You Are A passionate cook with experience in Michelin star and or fine dining and or sustainable kitchens
Deeply interested in food, restaurants, and craft
Creative and curious with a desire to rethink desserts
Organized, detail oriented, and clean in your work
A clear and respectful communicator who works well on a team
Professional experience with bread, desserts, pastry, and confections
Strong understanding of seasonality and ingredient driven cooking
Comfortable working with alternative sweeteners and nontraditional techniques
Ability to execute at a high level of precision and consistency
