Location & Work Arrangement
- City, State: Columbus, Ohio (Preference for candidates local to this area)
- Work Arrangement: Remote
- Contract: This is a Contract position.
- Shift: 3rd Shift (11:00 PM 8:00 AM EST)
- Schedule: Must work every Saturday and Sunday (Mandatory weekend coverage). Occasional holidays required on a rotational basis.
- Mode of Interview: Webcam (Teams).
Core Duties and Technical Expertise
Batch Workload Management (20 Years Experience Required)
- Mandatory Tool Expertise: Efficiently manage, monitor, and analyze mainframe and distributed systems batch workload using BMC Control-M and BMC Enterprise Manager (EM).
- Workload Control: Skill in managing batch workload on the AJF (Active Job File) for both mainframe and client-server applications.
- Problem Resolution: Expertise in identifying abends (job failures) and using JCL (Job Control Language) to fix those abends.
- System Monitoring: Proficient in using TSO/ISPF to analyze status and identify batch job issues.
- Server Monitoring: Capability to recognize server problems by utilizing tools like Nagios, IP Monitor, and Tivoli.
Incident Management and Communication
- Issue Identification: Analyze alert messages and shout messages to determine severity.
- Escalation: Alert support staff when problems develop and escalate issues to management immediately when SLA's may be jeopardized.
- Documentation: Document all issues in writing (e.g., via ServiceNow tickets: Incidents & Incident Tasks).
- Communication: Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills are mandatory for communicating problems, resolutions, and pertinent details to programmers and support staff.
